Is there a pan-European Dem in evrs?

The only available pan-European DEM in EVRS is the EU-DEM. This is a Digital Surface Model with horizontal datum ETRS89, ellipsoid GRS80 and vertical datum EVRS2000 with geoid EGG08. SRTM & ASTER data were used by the Copernicus Project to derive the EU-DEM with a horizontal resolution of 1-arc second (~30 m).

What is eurodem (Digital Elevation Model)?

EuroDEM (digital elevation model) describes the distribution of terrain or ‘bare earth’ heights, not including ‘first surface’ elevations such as vegetation and man-made structures. It is ideal for environmental change research, hydrologic modelling, resource monitoring, monitoring mapping and visualisation. 04/2022

How does EU-dem work?

EU-DEM uses NODATA values for elevations over seas and oceans, where both ASTER and SRTM assign these areas an elevation of 0m. This means that Open Topo Data isn't able to interpolate elevations for locations very close to the coast and will return a value of NaN in places where SRTM and ASTER might return a 0m or 1m elevation.
